How much does the hoop weigh?
Hoops weigh just under 2 pounds. The larger the hoop and the more tape added, the heavier the hoop becomes. You can view the exact weight of each style in the chart under the menu option "HOOPS".

How are these hoops different than others?
HoopGirl Hoops are constructed of heavy weight durable plastic tube which is thick and resilient. They are larger in size than "traditional" toy hoops which makes them rotate slower so they are easier to keep spinning. The fabric and vinyl tapes create friction so the hoop "sticks" to your hips very effectively. This allows many people who could never hoop to experience easy success!

Will I always get the exact colors I choose for my hoop?
About 98% of our orders are delivered exactly in the color combination you have selected. However, we reserve the right to change the layering of tapes or substitute a color if what you selected is out of stock or backordered.

How do I choose the right hoop for me?
Find a style which appeal to you and go for it! If you are a performer, choose – ENERGY – so that your hoop is dazzling. If you just want a basic inexpensive weighted hoop, get a POWER. ULTRA hoops are great for kids and experienced hoopers who want a ligher, smaller hoop. No matter what hoop you choose, they all work the same and are fantastic! COLLAPSIBLE INTERNATIONAL hoop is great for those who need a hoop which coils down to a smaller size for travel -or- for those ordering internationally.. note this is the only hoop we can ship around the globe.
All of the hoops have the same heavy-weight durable plastic underneath the tape.

Yes! ULTRA hoops are a great size for kids, and are lighter than all other hoop styles we offer.

Can I place a rush order?
Unfortunately, we cannot take rush orders for individual hoops at this time. All orders placed online must be shipped via US Priority mail from our Los Angeles workshop. Occassionaly we can fulfill bulk orders of 10 or more hoops more quickly for an additional fee. Contact us for more details.

How long until my hoop or DVD is delivered, how will it be shipped and delivery policy?
Hoops are delivered by US Priority mail 2-3 weeks after ordering. They are all lovingly handmade by remarkable women and we thank you for your patience in understanding that good things take time. Promotional items such as coffee mugs and shirts are sent by regular US mail 2-3 weeks after ordering. DVDs are sent out once a week on mondays and shipped US Priority Mail and should arrive to you one to two weeks after ordering. Teacher Training manuals and confirmation packets are mailed by US Priority mail one month prior to the training date. Nothing is shipped to you for class registrations. We send all hoops with a delivery confirmation through USPS. If we have evidence that your hoop was delivered by the USPS to your address, we are not responsible for theft or damage taking place once the item is left on your property.

How do I place an international order?
ONLY DVDs and the COLLAPSIBLE INTERNATIONAL HOOP style can be shipped internationally.To place your order, you must enter your full mailing address and ALSO choose the last option, ZZ Other- Not Known, in the State/Province box, so that our cart accepts your order. Put the name of your country in all capitals in the address field. Again, we can ONLY ship International Collapsible outside the USA at this time. If you order a hoop style other than the International Collapsible Style, you will be refunded.

How do I assemble and disassemble my collapsable hoop?
Your collapsible hoop will arrive coiled down. In order to take the hoop out of its coil, stand it upright with connection area on top. Pull the two ends apart by pushing down slightly and pulling on each side of the connection area. After the hoop is separated, unravel the hoop to full size. The connector will be lodged permenantly inside one side. Simply push the end which is open over the connector until snug. There is electrical tape provided on one side of the connector. Unwind this tape and reapply it over the joint in a criss-cross fashion. You are ready to hoop! To collapse the hoop again, remove the electrical tape (which can be reused). Pull both ends of the hoop down to coil it about half way. Then flip the hoop over onto the floor and place your foot gently on the partially coiled hoop, holding it down. Pull the two loose ends up and around in a circle, reaching the ends together again. Reconnect the joint by pushing down slightly and connecting the ends. Now you and your hoop are ready to travel!

How do I care for my HoopGirl Hoop? - When not in use, store your hoop flat in a cool place out of the sun.
- To store your hoop in your car, gently take the hoop between both hands, bend it with care until it passes through the back door and release so it can expand on back seat.
- Do not leave your hoop in hot cars or in sunlight for extended periods of time. Leave your hoop in weather conditions you would feel comfortable leaving an infant. If slight warping occurs, gently bend it back into place and place itflat on grass in sun to warm and reshape. If you actually melt the internal connector from a hot car you won't be able to repair it.
- Use your hoop on soft surfaces such as grass and carpeting. Gravel, asphalt, dirt, concrete and wood could cause dings in the tape and the hoop.
- Avoid sitting on your hoop, pulling tug-a-war with your hoop or skidding your hoop on grass.
- If your hoop tape becomes dirty dampen a washcloth with dish soap and gently wash away the dirt.

How can I learn to hoop?
First trust your intuition! Give it a try and chances are it will all come back to you. You can also join a fun class! Hoopgirl's teaching schedule is viewable online at www.HoopGirl.com. She can also travel to come teach a workshop where you live. You can also purchase the instructional DVD in the online store which will teach you 35 hoopdance moves and 4 combinations.

What is your return/cancellation policy?
ALL SALES ARE FINAL. There are no returns. You cannot return a hoop because you did not read the stated weights properly on the "HOOPS" page. You cannot return a hoop because you decide you didn't like your custom color choice. All sales of hoops are final. If you purchase a class series, teacher training workshop, DVD, or place an order for a hoop -- it is yours to keep or share with friends! If we cancel a class or seminar, however, you are entitled to a a full refund or credit towards a future class.

Can I still sign up for class which starts TONIGHT?
If you are signing up for a whole class series, look in the online store. If there is an icon still in the store, YES, go ahead and sign up! If you are wanting to join a class after it has already started for the remainder of the series of just drop into one class, call the office to check availability. Note we are open M, W, F 9am-5pm, so if you are calling outside these times, you may just want to go to class and see if there is room in person.

What if a teacher training goes on sale after I have already paid full price? Other teacher training situations...
Sometimes we reduce the cost of a training in order to meet enrollment requirements to hold the course. If you have already purchased a full price teacher training seminar, we cannot issue refunds or store credit for the difference in cost since the sale began after you purchased of this item. You may however, apply the discount you would have received to enrollment in the next level of teacher training available, or to attending the annual Vortex teacher's conference. Applying this credit to another training or conference cannot be combined with an additional sale or discount on that same event. Thank you for your understanding! If you have a transportation mishap such as missing a plane, arrive many hours late for a training day and miss crucial information, get sick during a training, or decide mid-training that you need to step out for other personal reasons we cannot provide a refund. We will in all cases attempt to create a resolution which will provide you with as many options as possible to obtain the information - such as attending another training - but again, cannot provide refunds. Certification and licensing also requires that you have participated in enough of the training to be a competent teacher and this determination will be made by the Master Trainer.

What do I bring to a hooping class?
Wear non-slippery fitness or yoga attire. Bring water. Wear sneakers. We will bring the fun! Professional weighted hoops are provided for class use and are available for sale on site.

Can I sign up for the Teacher Training even if I don't know all the "moves" from the HoopGirl Workout?
Everyone is welcome to sign up the teacher training. You will immediately be able to use the information you learn to lead exciting classes. However, before you teach classes with the designation, "The HoopGirl Workout", use the HoopGirl Certified logo or receive listing on the HoopGirl.com website, you will need to gain demonstrated mastery over all the moves.

What are the office hours? When can I speak to a live person?
We have a wonderful administrative assistant who knows all working Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9am to 5pm, with a lunch break from 1-2. Call 415-331-6633! These are the times when email and phone inquiries are returned as well. Special events, like Burning Man (Office if closed August 24-September 3) or an occasional vacation create modifications in this schedule, so please be patient. It is our TOP priority to be in touch with you and help you in any way we can!
