HoopGirl is many things – dynamic performer, energetic teacher, and tireless pioneer of an innovative new form of movement called hoopdance. HoopGirl is also a way of life - one that embodies freedom, fitness, and sensuality. HoopGirl is Christabel Zamor, a dance dynamo, who resides in San Francisco. She is travelling the world stretching the bodies and minds of thousands to make hoopdance a global sensation. Her goal is to revolutionize your beliefs of what you can do in your life by modeling how to be strong, beautiful, creative and fabulous. Hoopgirl's performances, classes and products are all designed to inspire you to change the world by bringing out the best in yourself.

HoopGirl the Performer
HoopGirl goes from camp to vamp and back, faster than you can say "Hoop-la-la!". You can catch her on movie sets, in the photo studio shooting for upscale ad campaigns, at mega concerts and in music videos. Upscale corporate events bring her back again and again to dazzle their executives with her elegant acrobactics. Dishing out more than just gyration, HoopGirl can command an audience of thousands to silence with her mezmerizing, sensual dance. Joy radiates from her whole body and her eyes electrify. Her fantastical costumes animate and energize. HoopGirl plays with the crowd and undulates to the music while the hoop magically orbits every part of her body. Defying gravity, at times it seems to float around her and other times, it beats ecstatically with the drums. Conversations cease, jaws drop, and time seems to stop until the room explodes in applause.

HoopGirl has performed dance for eight years and hoopdance professionally for the last five. She has dazzled audiences in over 100 venues in the U.S and internationally including Canada, Mexico, and Austria. She is the star in the largest hooping ad campaign ever created,strategized in England by Heart FM. HoopGirl has performed for Cirque du Soliel, Jockey, Pac-Bell, Sony, Warner Brothers International Television, and Girl Scouts of America. She has wowed audiences at movie premiers, estate and corporate events, discotechs, and private parties. She has a performance residency at the largest nightclub in San Francisco, Ruby Skye, as well Club Vision in Chicago. Christabel has been featured as a foremost leader in hooping on television and in numerous magazines and newspapers. She is also a lead star and associate producer of HOOP: A Revolution of Sorts, a full-length film on the hoop revival. HoopGirl also runs her own hoopdance theatre company, the HoopGirl All Stars.

HoopGirl the Teacher
Dance Spirit and Being Magazines call Christabel the "Hoop Master". Hundreds of students have sought out her HoopGirl Workout classes which regularly sell out weeks ahead of time. Christabel's ability to articulate her skills makes hoopdance accessible to those of all ages and abilities. Students from around the world regularly travel to attend her seminars and train privately with her. Christabel engages the senses and imagination by using colorful metaphors to help her students gain a deeper connection with their hoops. Breathing, movement and visualization exercises are combined with detailed "hands-on" instructions to heighten body awareness and accelerate learning. Whatever the goals of her students - fitness, performance or simply fun – she makes sure each one leaves class with not only new moves, but more important – an increased sense of vitality, inspiration, and confidence. She regularly trains teachers for the Los Angeles County School District's Best Fit Program, helping 7,600 children prevent obesity. Her Teacher Training course can also provide graduates who are classroom teachers with a continuing education unit from an accredited university program.

Being so familiar with learning, Christabel knows what it takes to powerfully impart knowledge. She is a accredited by the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America as a Primary Group Exercise Instructor, and also a licenced Nia White Belt teacher. She holds two master's degrees in Cultural Anthropology and Mythological Studies with an emphasis in Depth Psychology. She also possesses various credentials somatic awareness. She has studied and performed many forms of dance such as West African, Afro-Cuban, Middle Eastern, Indian temple dancing, fire dancing, and snake dancing -- and draws on all of them in her performance and instruction. Christabel is currently training to recieve Primary Group Exercise Certification from the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America. She is a Mind-Body member of the IDEA Health and Fitness Association, the leading international organization for fitness professionals who seek to, "Inspire the World To Fitness."

HoopGirl has an instructional DVD called, "HoopDance for Beginners" available for sale. She also choreographed and starred in "Hulaerobics" in a project with Universal Pictures and Heart, scheduled for release in the UK in January 2007. Her custom pro hoops are widely regarded as the best and she has created designs for hoopers of all levels. HoopGirl has sold over 4000 hoops and has at least one in every U.S. state.
