This was a really fantastic video story about hooping and wellbeing! I think the best story that has ever been done with me.

I was really pleased with how it came out.
*Micro-disclaimer. Of course the written version of the interview got a few of the facts wrong about the timing of my weight loss. Just for the record, I did not weight 180 and then magically loose it all by hooping, as I have said many times before. I was 180 during undergraduate college studies, *changed my diet significantly* and started a regular walking program. I started hooping later once I was already down to 145, and yes, it did have unexpected slimming aspects. But I need to remind those who are coming to hooping seeking for weight loss that changing your diet and being less sedentary is *KEY*.

I just got sent this link from the wonderful people who made the HoopGirl piece for Yahoo and Capessa. They made a short video reflecting on what it was like to make my story. They are so cute! I was so grateful for this opportunity.

Yippie! I was filmed for the Daytime show here today in Tampa, Florida, where I am visiting to teach a HoopGirl teacher certification course this weekend. I think this was one of my favorite tv segments~ Dave, who interviewed me was really friendly and had a great attitude to being successful at hooping even though he hadn't done it for years. He asked me great questions, didn't cut me off, was a super hooper, pitched my website and they gave me a long amount of time to perform with fun music! Also, unlike other locations which are crawling with technicians and multiple producers, this location was super chill, with only a few younger technicians who were all smiling and seemed happy and unstressed the whole time. Really, a dreamy tv experience. When it airs in July it will be viewed by almost 9 million households! Awesome!
I'll post more information as available about the air time, but for now these are the cities where it will play:
WFLA/ Tampa, FL
WRBL/Columbus, GA
WNCN/Raleigh, NC
WCWJ/ Jacksonville, FL
WSAV/Savannah, GA
WCBD/Charleston, SC
KGPT/Wichita, KS
KPVM/Pahrump, NV
WJAL/Washington, DC

My most sincere thanks to all of you who took the time to vote for me for the Best of the Bay Competition! HoopGirl won Best Personal Trainer. Honestly, I won this on behalf of all the amazing team of talented women who teach with me: Annie, Natasha, Satise, Shawna, Sylvia and Candice! Thank you ladies for your brilliance! Each one of you have won this award with me.
The award says,
"Shake off that flab, grind your pelvis, and work that ass with Christabel Zamor, the sexiest hula-hooping heroine in the world. www.hoopgirl.com". What a cool write up!
Tune in and catch me on "Live with Regis and Kelly" this thursday morning, August 7th! I'll be on the show on my way back in from England. I'm so excited! The producers have been really fantastic to work with and are so genuinely interested in the HoopGirl Workout!
After a lovely night's stay at the Heathman Hotel in Portland, I started the today early at 4am to get to my first tv show on time - I was met by Joe of KPTV-TV "Good Day Oregon", a super enthusiastic chap who was amped and ready to give hooping his best shot. And he did! By the end of the of the segment he was ripping and roaring two hoops while whooping and hollering. Sweet! It was so nice that he pushed the book right up to the camera at every opportunity. There were 6 separate segments filmed over the course of 2 hours and then I zipped off to the second media opportunity with KATU-TV "AM Northwest". Traffic was tough, but I blazed in just under the wire to hang out in the green room for a moment with another author who wrote a book on knitting, then went into the studio and basically leapt onto stage and away we went with no preparation or discussion. It was great fun. I love being on tv! I am SO lucky to have gotten these wonderful opportunities, to have been able to write this book and to have been sent on tour. Thank you to everyone who helped make it happen!
If you live in the area, be sure to join me tonight at 8:30pm at Studio Nia, 918 SW Yamhill in downtown Portland, where I will be doing booksignings. Note that the 7:30pm class is already full with a waiting list. See you then!
Do you live in San Francisco and want to join in on some fun? Here is a note from the producers of ABC's "View From the Bay" show inviting YOU to join the studio audience!! I hope you can come... it will be sweet to look out and see your smile. See you there~ xoxo
