There were 25,000 copies created just for US distribution, not to mention Canadian and German! Hooping.org proudly presents our Third Annual Hoopie Awards, the awards honoring greatness in our hooping community. Nominations are now open and will close on Thursday, January 14th, at 9:00 pm PST. Previous award winners are not eligible to win within the same category twice, but feel free to nominate them for other categories if you so choose. You can view previous winners from the 2009 Hoopies and 2008 Hoopies if you so choose. You can only make one (1) nomination for each award category and we've added two new categories this year to better reflect Hooping.org's content - 1) Photo of the Year, and 2) Online Tutorial of the Year. You've enjoyed our Photos of the Day and Tutorials of the Week and it's time to recognize what stood out in this areas too. Only one (1) nomination email can be made from a single email address.
A new final selection review panel begins this year. This panel will consist of a small randomly selected group of nomination ballot casters who are willing and able to review the nominees and help us decide who receives Hooping.org's final nominations. If you are willing to be of service on this panel you must A) be available Saturday, January 16th, to review the nominees (a time consuming process) and offer your impartial selections, B) agree to maintain complete secrecy until after final nominees are announced, and C) indicate your interest in panel service on your nomination ballot with a "YES." The final nominees in the Third Annual Hoopie Awards will be announced on Monday, January 18th and final voting will begin.
