Thumbs up, as well, to Julie Grecius, our amazing teaching assistant! She really held space in an nurturing way for the whole group.
What was most remarkable about this training was how gung-ho everyone was to master skills. Most of the women who attended were in the very beginning stages of hooping and just starting to feel confident as leaders in the circle...
As usual, it was amazing to see the facilitation style of each woman unfold as they evolved from being students to teachers. They quickly absorbed the class format and added their own unique flair. On an even deeper level was the personal growth that happened. It was wonderful to witness each woman moving through outdated beliefs and/or languaging and step into a sense of presence, poise and professionality. I was astounded how much they embodied so quickly! I know they will be sharing their joy with hundreds and thousands of new hoopers very soon, and can't wait to hear what unfolds.
It was especially lovely to hold the training in Mill Valley! The Masonic Lodge is beautiful and surrounded by lots of quaint places to grab some food and reflect... on the town square, on the grass of City Hall and in the nearby redwoods. A nice new trend is that many who are attending trainings who have less experience as hoopers are booking privates with me which take place before or after the training event~ the results have been unbelievable! Case in point was Linna who never picked up a hoop before attending the training. She learned all the Level One HoopGirl Workout moves from a 4 hour pack of privates! Wow!
I'm excited to do the next Level 1 HoopGirl Teacher Training~ it really is my favorite part of my job. Save the date! The next Mill Valley Level 1 is February 5-7 (tbc). There is also a Level 1 coming up next month, October 23-25. Teaching hoopdance has been the most rewarding job I have ever had in my life and I can't wait to share it with you!
