Listen to PART I of the interview (note both of these are audio with a collage of still photos!):
And then PART II of the interview:
I got up at 5am this morning, filled with excitement and a bit of nervousness about being on the K-FOG Morning Show...
Got ready, drove into the city into a swarm of skyscrapers, then up to the 10th floor of the building housing the radio station. There were no signs in the hallways because, apparently, people stalk the radio station! This was news to me. Went through a number of keyed entrances and waited in a room where I could look through a glass window into another room full of microphones, equipment and the Morning Show Crew.
I was immediately comfortable and at ease with Renee and Peter (who had already done a segment on my classes in the past) as well as Greg, who was super welcoming. It was an unusual show because Renee, the host, has personally hooped many times before and is passionate about it already. She is fascinated by the more male styles and conceptually already understood the dynamism and grace in hooping as an art form. Neat way to start! This allowed some super juicey material to present itself rather fast in the interview, which had 15 whole minutes, as well as call-ins. Then suddenly, we were on air.
I loved how quickly I fell into a natural exchange with them all, and found my whole body filled with a kind of vitality which was refreshing and exhilarating. I do love hooping so much. It is a lifelong passion. And I especially love sharing things I am passionate about with others and presenting publicly. What a wonderful blessing this opportunity was! Thanks K-FOG!
