Right after I was on the first show I headed to the second, guided by my new trusty portable GPS system.
Again, a totally different studio experience... I went through the back directly into the filming area and had some time to chill before hand. By this point, being on shows suddenly started feeling like "old hat", and I found my whole body relaxed and at ease the moment I walked through the door. Lots of smiling happy anchors and I loved how playful and interactive they were with the whole production crew, even getting them to jump through hoops and play with the hoops!
This was a good segment. Both anchors were willing to give it a go and they were fantastic! With only a little coaching, they were able to maintain hoop orbit.
I really liked doing the hooping demos for them, but it seemed like when I got down onto the floor they were completly flabbergasted and immediately moved in to change the scene up. It was kind of hilarious, actually, as if they had no idea what I would do next. I was able to glance at the screens every now and then and it looked really good, though, so I'm glad I went for it and stretched the boundaries (I say until I see it on screen... heh heh!)
Of course, as with all segments, there was so much more I wanted to say! But that's they way it goes. You get in what you can, and appreciate the good parts. It was a fun opportunity and neat to see so many people there enjoying the hoops and learning more about hoopdance.
For whatever reason, they posted all the other segments that came after me already on their website, but mine is not featured ... :( perhaps it will go up in a while?
